TWIN BRIDGES, California. – OCT 19, 2023- On Sunday Oct. 15, Sierra-at-Tahoe hosted its 15th ‘Keep Sierra Clean Day’ with a special tree replanting, making the official mark on a new chapter for the mountain. With 1,400 lbs. of trash collected and over 2,000 trees planted, families + friends gathered for a day of celebration while getting a first look at the newly revealed terrain awaiting this coming winter.

TWIN BRIDGES, California. – April 7, 2023- Sierra-at-Tahoe is extending the 2022/23 season until Sunday, April 23 with a bonus Customer Appreciation Day on Monday, April 24 to benefit local youth + recreation in South Lake Tahoe. Sitting at 680”, the second highest annual snowfall in Sierra’s 76-year history, this will provide guests and loyal Season Passholders to take advantage of bluebird days, spring skiing conditions, and a stacked lineup of events this weekend through closing day.

Sierra-at-Tahoe announces 2023/24 season pass sales while quickly approaching the 600” season snowfall total that will place this season in the top four record breaking years of total snowfall seasons for the resort.

The highly anticipated, once thought impossible day, is here. A new chapter begins in Sierra-at-Tahoe's 75-year history. West Bowl opens today, the area of the resort that was the most severely impacted by the 2021 Caldor Fire, just 13 days after the start of the 2022/23 winter season.

The Powder Alliance recently announced the addition of two (2) New Zealand resorts, Tūroa and Whakapapa, to its global resort affiliate program. Located on Mt Ruapehu, Tūroa and Whakapapa Ski Areas represent the best of New Zealand’s North Island with picturesque views of the Pinnacles and the nation’s longest vertical drop.

On the one year anniversary of the Caldor Fire burning through Sierra-at-Tahoe, remediation goals for the West Bowl area of the ski resort have been accomplished, marking another major step towards the resort reopening this 2022/23 winter season.

In partnership with the United States Forest Service (USFS), El Dorado Resource Conservation District (RCD), El Dorado Community Foundation, and Kingsborough Atlas Tree Surgery, Inc. (Atlas Tree), Sierra-at-Tahoe breaks ground with a comprehensive restoration plan to meet the goal of a full opening for the 2022/23 season.

Sierra-at-Tahoe will reopen on April 9 and 10, 2022 with a special weekend-only event to celebrate 75 years of Sierra. After nearly a year of unforeseen events and unknown obstacles caused by the Caldor Fire, Sierra is excited to welcome guests back to the mountain for a one-time-only weekend of winter play with Subaru WinterFest and Vans METHODOLOGY.

Sierra-at-Tahoe has released season passes for the 2021/22 winter season, with prices starting as low as $299. New passholders can take advantage of Tahoe’s best deal on a season pass and enjoy skiing the rest of the 2020/21 season for free. To show immense gratitude for 2019/20 and 2020/21 season passholders, Sierra is offering a 20% renewal discount across all of their 2021/22 season passes during the spring sale.

Thanks to recent snowfall and with the Thanksgiving holiday in mind, Sierra-at-Tahoe will open for the 2020/21 winter season on November 25, 2020. Sierra will begin winter operations on Wednesday, and to show our gratitude for our most loyal guests, early-season access will be exclusively for season pass and seasonal product holders at the place Where Play Reigns Free.

The notion of play runs deep at Sierra-at-Tahoe, and as we eagerly await the start of the 2020/21 Winter Season, keeping the essence of play alive via skiing and riding is more important to us than ever. Over the summer months our team has been working tirelessly to prepare both the mountain and operational procedures regarding COVID-19 so we can welcome back the Sierra Family to the place Where Play Reigns Free with open (yet socially distanced) arms.

While times have changed, Sierra-at-Tahoe’s commitment to its guests has not. In an effort to support those who wish to return to the mountains, Sierra is offering a new, comprehensive season pass plan which includes an extended Spring Pass Sale deadline, reduced pricing, exclusive discounts for renewing passholders for 2020/21 Season Passes, credit for unused products and more.

In consideration of on-going developments with the current health crisis, Sierra-at-Tahoe will continue to suspend operations for the 2019/2020 season indefinitely. As we navigate through the COVID-19 issue, the health and safety of our guests and employees is our primary concern. During this time of uncertainty, we will do our part to help stop the spread of this virus.

New for 2020/21, Sierra-at-Tahoe is releasing three Season Pass options fully-loaded with benefits created with passholders in mind. All passes now come with perks like $60 BFF tickets to get friends and family on the hill, and 20% off on-mountain purchases! New passholders not only get access to the mountain next season, but for the remainder of this season, too, while returning passholders will get two Monday-Friday lift tickets for a friend, valid for the remainder of the 2019/20 season.

The closest resort to Sacramento and the Bay Area, Sierra-at-Tahoe has been a gathering place for families, first-timers and expert skiers and snowboarders alike, generation after generation. Heading into the 2019/20 Winter Season, Sierra will be providing an enhanced guest experience, focused on renewed ease and value, in a number of new and exciting ways.

2019/20 Sierra-at-Tahoe Season Passes are on sale now for as low as $319. Once purchased, skiers and riders not only get to rip the mountain during the 2019/20 season, but the remainder of this season, as well. To top it off, those who purchase a pass this spring will be entered to win a custom Sierra-at-Tahoe surfboard or a Subaru x Lib Tech snowboard. The winner will be announced after April 30th and is not valid for child pass purchases.

Just in time for Learn to Ski and Ride month this January, Sierra-at-Tahoe is excited to announce its all-new Level UPgrade package, in conjunction with its Learn to Ski/Ride 3-PAK offering, aimed at helping new skiers and riders take their game to the next level.

On January 18 and January 25, Sierra will be offering a Learn to Ski/Ride Day special for adults and young adults. For only $79, beginners will get a lesson, rentals and limited-access lift ticket. Availability is limited, so guests will need to book ahead of time online to secure their spot.

Sierra-at-Tahoe will be opening for the 2018/19 winter season on November 30, 2018. With snow in the forecast into Friday, Sierra is excited to have three lifts and one surface lift scheduled to operate, conditions permitting. Early season conditions are present throughout the mountain and guests are asked to obey all signs and closures, watch for unmarked obstacles and to stay on groomed runs.

As the 2018/19 season approaches, Sierra-at-Tahoe is pleased to announce the hire of industry veteran Dan Healy for the role of Snowsports School Director.

Sierra-at-Tahoe looks forward to partnering with Shinesty, a clothing company specializing in retro ski gear and party suits, to host a special Throwback Day on Saturday, Feb 24. This is a free event to guests of all ages, taking place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the base area of Sierra.

Sierra-at-Tahoe is offering free skiing to passholders of neighboring resorts with the “Have One On Us” program. Passholders from Dodge Ridge Ski Area and China Peak Mountain Resort will be granted one day of free skiing at Sierra-at-Tahoe through the end of February.

Sierra-at-Tahoe has dedicated an event in loving memory of local Sierra snowboarder and former employee, Natasha “Tash” Sagucka. The USASA “Jammin’ 4 Tash” event will take place on Jan. 20, 2018 on Broadway Trail.

Resort’s Environmental initiatives expanded by reducing single-use water bottles and installing eco-friendly water bottle fill-up stations

In anticipation of an El Nino winter, Sierra-at-Tahoe has made improvements for the 2015-16 season in increased connectivity, guest benefits technology, culture, and celebration of local talent.

Sierra-at-Tahoe brings the second annual Equinox Spring Festival to the slopes beginning March 21. This free festival features live bands over three consecutive weekends, signature Sierra events for all ages and competitions on and off the mountain.

This past Sunday at Keep Sierra Clean Day, three hundred people from Sierra-at-Tahoe’s loyal community collected nearly 1,300 pounds of trash from the slopes, including unique finds like an electric toothbrush, several snowboards and even a ski from Sierra Ski Ranch.

South Lake Tahoe, the tight-knit ski community big on Olympic athletes will honor its three USA team members in a city-wide celebration, Saturday, March 15.

Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort team riders and South Lake Tahoe locals Jamie Anderson, Maddie Bowman, and Hannah Teter will invade Aspen, Colorado, this upcoming weekend, January 22-26, 2014 for the Winter X Games.

Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort had five athletes compete at the Dew Tour this past weekend in Breckenridge, Colorado. The Dew Tour marked the first Olympic qualifier of the year for members of the US Freeskiing and US Snowboarding team.

On the 20th anniversary of the ESPN Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly (ESPY) Awards Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort team rider and professional snowboarder Jamie Anderson won the ESPY for Best Female Action Sports Athlete. In the 2011-12 season Anderson won gold at both Winter X Games Aspen and Winter X Games Tignes in Women’s Slopestyle.
