Sierra-at-Tahoe Reopens to Celebrate 75 Years of Sierra with a Special Weekend-Only Event
Sierra-at-Tahoe will reopen on April 9 and 10, 2022 with a special weekend-only event to celebrate 75 years of Sierra. After nearly a year of unforeseen events and unknown obstacles caused by the Caldor Fire, Sierra is excited to welcome guests back to the mountain for a one-time-only weekend of winter play with Subaru WinterFest and Vans METHODOLOGY.
Sierra-at-Tahoe Releases Season Passes for the 2021/22 Season
Sierra-at-Tahoe has released season passes for the 2021/22 winter season, with prices starting as low as $299. New passholders can take advantage of Tahoe’s best deal on a season pass and enjoy skiing the rest of the 2020/21 season for free. To show immense gratitude for 2019/20 and 2020/21 season passholders, Sierra is offering a 20% renewal discount across all of their 2021/22 season passes during the spring sale.
Sierra-at-Tahoe Announces 2020/21 Opening Week for Season Passholders
Thanks to recent snowfall and with the Thanksgiving holiday in mind, Sierra-at-Tahoe will open for the 2020/21 winter season on November 25, 2020. Sierra will begin winter operations on Wednesday, and to show our gratitude for our most loyal guests, early-season access will be exclusively for season pass and seasonal product holders at the place Where Play Reigns Free.
Sierra-at-Tahoe 2020/21 Winter Operations Update
The notion of play runs deep at Sierra-at-Tahoe, and as we eagerly await the start of the 2020/21 Winter Season, keeping the essence of play alive via skiing and riding is more important to us than ever. Over the summer months our team has been working tirelessly to prepare both the mountain and operational procedures regarding COVID-19 so we can welcome back the Sierra Family to the place Where Play Reigns Free with open (yet socially distanced) arms.
Sierra-at-Tahoe to Offer New Pricing, Renewal Benefits and More for 2020/21 Season
While times have changed, Sierra-at-Tahoe’s commitment to its guests has not. In an effort to support those who wish to return to the mountains, Sierra is offering a new, comprehensive season pass plan which includes an extended Spring Pass Sale deadline, reduced pricing, exclusive discounts for renewing passholders for 2020/21 Season Passes, credit for unused products and more.
Sierra-at-Tahoe to Suspend Operations Indefinitely
In consideration of on-going developments with the current health crisis, Sierra-at-Tahoe will continue to suspend operations for the 2019/2020 season indefinitely. As we navigate through the COVID-19 issue, the health and safety of our guests and employees is our primary concern. During this time of uncertainty, we will do our part to help stop the spread of this virus.
Sierra-at-Tahoe Releases Three New Season Passes for the 2020/21 Season
New for 2020/21, Sierra-at-Tahoe is releasing three Season Pass options fully-loaded with benefits created with passholders in mind. All passes now come with perks like $60 BFF tickets to get friends and family on the hill, and 20% off on-mountain purchases! New passholders not only get access to the mountain next season, but for the remainder of this season, too, while returning passholders will get two Monday-Friday lift tickets for a friend, valid for the remainder of the 2019/20 season.
Sierra-at-Tahoe to Enhance Guest and Passholder Experience
The closest resort to Sacramento and the Bay Area, Sierra-at-Tahoe has been a gathering place for families, first-timers and expert skiers and snowboarders alike, generation after generation. Heading into the 2019/20 Winter Season, Sierra will be providing an enhanced guest experience, focused on renewed ease and value, in a number of new and exciting ways.
Buy Now, Ride Now: 2019/20 Season Passes on Sale
2019/20 Sierra-at-Tahoe Season Passes are on sale now for as low as $319. Once purchased, skiers and riders not only get to rip the mountain during the 2019/20 season, but the remainder of this season, as well. To top it off, those who purchase a pass this spring will be entered to win a custom Sierra-at-Tahoe surfboard or a Subaru x Lib Tech snowboard. The winner will be announced after April 30th and is not valid for child pass purchases.
Sierra-at-Tahoe Announces New Beginner Ski/Ride Package
Just in time for Learn to Ski and Ride month this January, Sierra-at-Tahoe is excited to announce its all-new Level UPgrade package, in conjunction with its Learn to Ski/Ride 3-PAK offering, aimed at helping new skiers and riders take their game to the next level.
Sierra-at-Tahoe Announces Learn to Ski/Ride Day Special
On January 18 and January 25, Sierra will be offering a Learn to Ski/Ride Day special for adults and young adults. For only $79, beginners will get a lesson, rentals and limited-access lift ticket. Availability is limited, so guests will need to book ahead of time online to secure their spot.
Sierra-at-Tahoe to Open for the 2018/19 Season
Sierra-at-Tahoe will be opening for the 2018/19 winter season on November 30, 2018. With snow in the forecast into Friday, Sierra is excited to have three lifts and one surface lift scheduled to operate, conditions permitting. Early season conditions are present throughout the mountain and guests are asked to obey all signs and closures, watch for unmarked obstacles and to stay on groomed runs.

As the 2018/19 season approaches, Sierra-at-Tahoe is pleased to announce the hire of industry veteran Dan Healy for the role of Snowsports School Director.
Sierra-at-Tahoe Honors the Good ‘Ol Days with a Throwback Celebration
Sierra-at-Tahoe looks forward to partnering with Shinesty, a clothing company specializing in retro ski gear and party suits, to host a special Throwback Day on Saturday, Feb 24. This is a free event to guests of all ages, taking place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the base area of Sierra.
Sierra-at-Tahoe Offers Free Skiing to Passholders at Neighboring Resorts
Sierra-at-Tahoe is offering free skiing to passholders of neighboring resorts with the “Have One On Us” program. Passholders from Dodge Ridge Ski Area and China Peak Mountain Resort will be granted one day of free skiing at Sierra-at-Tahoe through the end of February.
Jammin’ 4 Tash
Sierra-at-Tahoe has dedicated an event in loving memory of local Sierra snowboarder and former employee, Natasha “Tash” Sagucka. The USASA “Jammin’ 4 Tash” event will take place on Jan. 20, 2018 on Broadway Trail.
