Sierra-at-Tahoe Bolsters Snowsports School with New Director Hire

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – October 18, 2018 - As the 2018/19 season approaches, Sierra-at-Tahoe is pleased to announce the hire of industry veteran Dan Healy for the role of Snowsports School Director.

Healy comes to Sierra fresh from his summertime role as the Director of the San Francisco Giants Summer Baseball Camps, where he excelled in running a smooth and successful children’s program. During the winter months, Healy compliments this experience with over 20 years of industry knowledge, having spent time in leadership positions at a handful of esteemed resorts.

Most recently, Healy worked at Sugar Bowl Resort where he successfully oversaw the entire day-to-day operations of their ski and snowboard school programs. This is supplemented by seven years of experience at Crested Butte Mountain Resort (CBMR) as the Children’s Program Director, as well as 12 years at Beaver Creek Resort where he honed his leadership and training skills. Having won several accolades for his accomplishments in these positions, including Ski Magazine’s Top 100 Instructor, CBMR Department Head of the Month, Healy has a proven track record of success.

As the Snowsports School Director at Sierra, Healy will bring a new vision and energy to an already established program. “In the hiring of Dan, we are excited to continue our commitment to upholding a welcoming, innovative, and successful snowsports school and solidify our spot as the place to learn in the Tahoe basin,” says General Manager John Rice. “His proven leadership experience combined with PSIA Level 3 and PSIA Children’s Specialist Level 2 certifications will make him an invaluable asset to our team.”

Sierra-at-Tahoe has a history of success in its snowsports learning program, having been the breeding ground for Olympic medalists Maddie Bowman, Jamie Anderson, and Hannah Teter. Featuring expansive beginner and learn to ski and ride terrain, Sierra is the place to go for first timers looking to improve their skills on snow.
