The Presidents Week holiday is upon us, and that means we’re about halfway into this amazing winter season. Holy guaca-snow-le, it continues to be one for the books! We’re sitting on a massive snowpack and are looking forward to getting buttery turns this Presidents Week and beyond. So strap in, ride the storm wave at your fav resort, and get ready for awesome conditions mountain-wide! Grandview Employee Snow Here’s a little recap thus far of the weather pattern this week: The storm started out warm, windy and difficult to forecast. But if there’s one thing you should know about the the high country, it’s to expect the unexpected. Shove some clouds up against enormous granite mountains and you’ll get different results every time. Luckily, what started out as rain on Wednesday switched to snow and we couldn’t be more excited. It’s currently DUMPING and only slated to snow more as we head into the weekend. We've already received 34" of snow in the last 24 hours! When all is said and done, we could see over five FEET of the good stuff on our slopes.

Satellite California Snow Thanks to the storms in #Februburied, our snowpack is lookin’ mighty fine for this time of year! In fact, we’ve already surpassed the total snowfall at Sierra for all of last season and with 166” this month, it's the most snow we’ve received in February since we started counting in 1995. To further illustrate this point, check out these satellite images, courtesy of NASA, comparing the year-to-date coverage for 2018 and 2019. Don’t those mountains look great in white? Not only will that hearty base make for stellar skiing/riding conditions during your holiday week, it’ll ensure we’re sliding on snow well into spring!

Our guests are also stoked on the number of flakes that have fallen this season. From pow days to sweet groomer turns, there’s plenty to be excited about up on the mountain. Here are a few of our favorite visual vibes from the recent storms:
