Congrats to Sierra Team Riders!

Break out the vodka and Borsch, Jamie Anderson, Maddie Bowman, and Hannah Teter are going to Russia. Congrats to our three team riders for earning a spot in the winter games to be held in Russia.

Jamie Anderson, women’s snowboard slopestyle, clinched her spot with a dominant qualifying campaign. Anderson won all five qualifiers and is considered a heavy medal favorite heading into games. 2014 marks the first year women’s snowboard slopestyle will be recognized as a medal sport. Women’s snowboard slopestyle will take place on February 9, 2014 at the Rosa Khutor Resort.

Maddie Bowman, women’s ski halfpipe, clinched her spot on the first ever U.S. Freesking Team with four podiums, including three victories throughout qualifying. Similar to women’s slopestyle, women’s ski halfpipe will make its debut in Russia. Women’s ski halfpipe will take place on February 20, 2014 at the Rosa Khutor Resort.

Hannah Teter, women’s snowboard halfpipe, is competing in her third games and looks to come home with another medal. Teter won gold in 2006, and silver in 2010. Teter lives in South Lake Tahoe and will represent the USA in a stacked women’s halfpipe field. Women’s snowboard halfpipe will take place on February 12, 2014 at the Rosa Khutor Resort.

Before heading to Russia, the Sierra Resort athletes will make a stop in Aspen, Colorado, to compete at the Winter X Games. All three ladies have previously stood on the top of the podium at X Games and will look to do so again and carry that momentum into the 2014 Winter Olympics.

Well-known for its commitment to both freestyle terrain parks and maintaining one of Lake Tahoe’s best halfpipes, Sierra Resort is proud to be home to some of the best athletes in the world.  Good luck or as the Russians say, удача (that's good luck for you non-Russian speakers).

The Goggles Don't Lie

If you haven't been up to the mountain in a while, you're probably wondering what conditions are like this weekend. Well you're in luck because as your trust snow reporter,I have been taking the incredible Zeal HD Goggles out to film conditions every Friday. Not only do these bad boys have top-of-the-line lenses, they also capture every moment in brilliant 1080p HD quality video.

As I went along on my weekly corduroy hunt, I was amazed at the great conditions I discovered. Thanks to our north facing slopes, conditions are holding up nicely despite the lack of stormy weather. Our groomers have been working their magic every night to keep the mountain looking fresh and it shows! Check out the smooth cords for yourself in my latest edition of The Goggles Don't Lie.

As you can see, conditions are super fun up at Sierra! We want to see what conditions look like where you're skiing and riding so post all your shred pics with the hashtag #GogglesDontLie on your Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts. Once you do this, you'll be entered for a chance to win your own sweet pair of Zeal HD Goggles and a pair of lift tickets to shred at Sierra!

Can't wait to see all your pics!

Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort Athletes Dominate Dew Tour

In the first Olympic qualifier of the season Sierra-at-Tahoe athletes killed it! This past weekend Breckenridge, CO played host to the Dew Tour. Three of the five team riders finished in the top ten, including victories from both Jamie Anderson and Maddie Bowman.

Jamie killed it as usuall and won Women’s Snowboard Slopestyle with a combination of smooth style and technical spins.

Maddie earned the top spot in Women’s Ski Halfpipe with big amplitude and a "dirty" (in a good way) 900.

Building off his strong finish last week, Smaine continued to crush it with HUGE amplitutde and innovative tricks. Nice work Kyle.

Shout out to Robby Franco as well for making Mens Ski Slope finals. Franco turned some heads with a creative line through the slope course.

Way to go team Sierra! Up next, the Grand Prix at Copper Mountain, CO, then world domination haha!
