Sierra-at-Tahoe Suspends Winter Operations
High temperatures, low snowfall pause 2014-15 winter season

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – March 15, 2015 - Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort will be suspending winter operations beginning Monday, March 16. Conditions around the mountain have deteriorated to the point where Sierra can no longer deliver a product that meets their standards. Although temperatures remain high and the forecast lacks precipitation, Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort is fully committed to resuming operations an adequate amount of snow is received.

“We want to sincerely thank our passholders, guests and employees, who continued to bring their best, day in and day out,” says General Manager John Rice “We are fueled by your smiles, which we had no shortage of, even during these past few days.”

The resort’s north-facing location paired with trail maintenance techniques and snowmaking allowed operations to remain open since Dec. 12 with one third of their average natural snowfall.

“Snow is not our only asset, as we are composed of an outstanding group of individuals who love this sport, this business and this very mountain. Without your trust and involvement, we would not survive.”
