HOW TO FIND VALUE ON A FAMILY SKI VACATION
Sierra-at-Tahoe® Resort Offers 8 Insider Ideas
# 1 – Beginners age 13+ can learn to ski for almost free this season with Sierra Resort’s Learn to Ski/Ride package for just $35. The beginner package is available all season long, Sunday through Friday, on non-restricted days and includes rental equipment, a 2.5 hour beginner group lesson and a limited access lift ticket. For families with adults and children who are beginners, this package eliminates the price barrier to learning a new sport. A family of four can learn to ski or snowboard for about the price of dinner and a movie for the group. The Learn to Ski/Ride package can be purchased online only and can be upgraded at the end of the day to the Learn to Ski/Ride 3-Pak.
# 2 – Just want to get out on the hill? The 3-Pak lift ticket lets adults ski/ride for just $45 per day if purchased online before January 1. After January 1, the 3-Pak is still only $49 per day. For kids 13-22 years old, it’s just $42 per day. Compare that to the daily lift ticket rate at some other resorts and you’ll agree that Sierra Resort understands what value really means. 3-Pak lift tickets can be used any day of the season (even holidays!) and don’t have to be used on three consecutive days. And they can be bought online. That’s value, flexibility, and convenience – all rolled up into one neat package.
The cherry on top of the sundae is that 3-Pak holders can also purchase a Food & Beverage Card and receive 20% more value for your money. Available in the Season Pass office at the resort or online, the Food & Beverage Card is valid any day of the season and can be used at any one of the restaurants or bars around the mountain – a great way for parents to give older kids a little freedom when it comes to lunch and snacks throughout the day. New this season, Food & Beverage Cards can also be used for rentals or repair work at Sierra Resort or in Sierra Mountain Sports. For even more value, load $50 or more on a Food & Beverage Card and we’ll give you an extra 20%.
# 3 - Ski & Stay specials start as low as $81 per person per night. The tickets are direct-to-lift and can even be exchanged for an Adult beginner Learn To Ski/Ride package. Plus, we offer complimentary shuttle transportation from locations throughout town. So you can stay overnight for a few bucks more than your lift ticket and have a beer in the Pub at the end of the day with the money you saved, because you don’t have to think about the drive home.
# 4 – Early Bird Private Lessons are just $69 right as the lifts open. On weekends and holidays, when the lifts open 30 minutes earlier than usual, we’ll even toss in those extra 30 minutes for free. So guests get ninety minutes of private instruction on a weekend for just $69! The Early Bird is a perfect opportunity for one parent to sneak away from the group one morning – then the other parent can do it the next.
#5- Or take the entire family out with a private instructor in the Family Private Lesson which starts at just $159 for up to 5 people! For parents with children 2-5 years old, Teach Your Kid is a 2 hour private lesson, for the price of 1 hour, that shows parents tricks and techniques to help their little rippers on the slopes. Teach Your Kid is offered at 2:00 p.m. daily and reservations are recommended.
# 6 - The Parent Predicament Ticket is the perfect solution to the age-old question: who is going to stay in the lodge with the baby? Both parents want to ski/ride so one watches the baby while the other takes a few runs – and then trade baby for lift ticket! The Parent Predicament Ticket is the same cost as an adult daily lift ticket.
# 7 – The Family Meal Deal at the 360° Smokehouse BBQ is value you can eat. Three smoked bbq meats plus four side dishes plus four drinks – all for $45.95. When you consider the price of eating lunch with a family of four – the Family Meal Deal makes sense. Eat around 2:30 p.m. and you don’t even need to think about dinner.
#8 – The Wild Mountain Children’s Ski & Snowboard School 3-Pak gets kids ages 3 through 12 an all day lesson, rental equipment and a lift ticket for just $74/day. Each age-specific program is designed to help your children get the most out of a day on the slopes. Instructors have the training, patience and personality to make sure your kids are smiling all day long.
