Close to Home
With ample, free parking for skiing, snowboarding and tubing, Sierra-at-Tahoe is easy to get to and welcoming to all. Sierra-at-Tahoe is the closest resort from Sacramento and the Bay Area — just a 1.5 hour or 3 hour drive respectivley. Your ticket to the mountain is closer than you think!
Parking at Sierra
For the remainder of the 2025/26 season, Sierra-at-Tahoe offers free first-come, first-served parking throughout its 5 parking lots (Lots A, B, C, D and E), with the exception of the Preferred Parking zone located at the top of C Lot, which can be purchased for $35/day.
Wild Mountain Kids Lessons has its own parking area at the top of D Lot for parents dropping off their children.
Having a lift ticket, season pass or lesson does not guarantee you a parking space. Please plan to carpool and arrive early on weekends and holidays to secure your spot.
NEW for the 2026/27 Season:
Sierra-at-Tahoe will be implementing parking reservations on weekends and holiday periods, free for passholders and for those with 4+ people in a car. This comes after feedback from guests and our local community regarding the impacts of its first-come, first-served parking model on high-volume days. By implementing parking reservations, the program will give guests peace of mind that parking will be available before they leave their homes, while helping reduce traffic impacts and carbon emissions.
Parking reservations for non-passholders will be $25/day, though certain programs, such as Ski and Ride School, may qualify for discounted reservations. More information on reservations will be released in Fall 2026.
Parking capacity updates will be given when lots begin to approach capacity via the top of the daily snow report message and via text. Text “conditions” to 833-264-8516 to get the latest reports on parking, lift status changes, conditions + more.
