"Sierra at Tahoe, aside from some lucky girl, is my true love. The beautiful views, the mesmerizing sounds, the hypnotizing feels, the astonishing aromas and the taste of a ski resort. Whether your there to shred the powder like a pro, or hang out and have a good time, you know you’re going to feel the love. So bask in it, bask in the sights, the scents, the sounds and the tastes. How it feels, I mean all of it. If you experience Sierra at Tahoe, you just can’t get enough.
The smells! Oh how wonderful! You step out into the parking lot and catch a whiff of the exhaust from the cars, but then it is gone and you’re left with a delightful pine sensation. Even better is the hot chocolate around you when you are waiting in line to buy a ticket, and once you get your ticket, you get to smell the ticket. Oh yes, the ticket does have a distinct scent, to me its like, oh you know, new. New, like the gloves you bought before the trip up the mountain. After you experience the ticket, (which I unfortunately no longer get to experience because I have a season pass) you get on the lift and are deposited on the mountain at a destination that you chose. Then it hits you, not just a better and stronger wave of pine, but the powder! The powder tops it all off, the powder has its own distinct scent. Like water, but pure as can be, as refined as allowed possible by Mother Nature. Sierra at Tahoe is its own little aroma garden, given the fact that you don’t have a stuffy nose.
Oh how delicious Sierra can be, from a face full of powder to a mouth full of ribs. You can’t go wrong with Sierra. (Except it is a little expensive) When you crash on ice it hurts, but at Sierra you can count on powder. So if you ever wind up buried in the fresh fluffy white stuff, take a bite. You will find that it is a very soothing cold taste, like ice water, but as pure as a finely cut diamond. Food is also all around you, near the Grandview lift, Tahoe Queen, there is a kart with candy bars and Gatorades. At the top there is the famous Grandview lodge! And of course the base lodge at the center of the resort, the main building, has multiple cafes and restaurant areas where you can enjoy a variety of delicious mouthwatering food. But it doesn’t end there if you venture over into the west bowl you can grub on the best food in the west! Just being in the presence of others peoples food makes you want to try at least something. Form tri tip, to smoked beef sandwiches, to every single beverage imaginable as well as easy access right off the hill. There is even room to sit down and enjoy it. Lastly, when you’re tired and worn out and just want to get home, and you’re waiting until it’s your turn to drive out of the resort the PUV shows up! Pizza for every one! At three dollars a slice, for big slices! You can’t help but buy a few for you and the family. The Pizza Utility Vehicle drives around the six parking lots offering pizza to those that want some. It’s a great way to end the day.
Have you experienced the snow at Sierra at Tahoe? It is godly! I swear South Lake Tahoe’s best is where I ride. Carving couldn’t feel any better. Whether you’re on skis or a snowboard the riding sensations for both are exhilarating. Feeling the wind rush by your face and the snow crunching beneath you, you can’t help but love it. It’s the feeling that keeps you coming back to the resort again and again. Even when you fall you can feel yourself against the cold cushion like ground and you just want to lay there soaking in the love and appreciating such a wonderful place. Because being on the snow, no matter how it is, is wonderful. For 11 years I’ve been going to Sierra and not once yet have I gotten tired of the feel of the snow. Even the boxes and the terrain parks feel good. No matter how many times we fall on them. So basically, no matter what your doing, how your doing it, or what position your in, its going to feel good, because you’re at Sierra at Tahoe remember?
Birds sing all the time right? Well, when you here them singing in the mountains it just sounds ten times better. It’s as if you were treating your ear to a natural symphony. The wind blowing through the trees makes thousands of different sounds, some scary, some beautifully melodic. The pine trees alone make their own contribution to the natural orchestra as their leaves quiver ever so slightly in the wind. Most of all though, on top of everything else, you are treated to the sound of people having a good time, enjoying themselves and the sound of everything possibly imaginable, going on with the snow, form animals burrowing in it, to boards and skis going over it. In the mountains, at a ski resort, a symphony of sound will always await you.
The Grand Canyon, such an impressive sight, the view is spectacular, just like everything at Sierra at Tahoe. From the parking lot, you can see the runs cutting through the trees every which way here and there you can imagine yourself. At the summit, you can look back on the parking lot and notice how many cars are there. Not only that but you can see the tree line and admire the view of the adjacent peak. A large mountain named Pyramid Peak. But the best sight that there is to see at Sierra, besides its great ambience and the beauty of the resort there is one thing that tops it all. From the Grandview lodge, at the summit there is a fantastic awe inspiring view of Lake Tahoe, its deep blue color and the astonishing contrast with the trees and the mountains around it. I have never seen a more inviting sight. The view alone is worth the lift ticket.
Sierra at Tahoe, my home in my heart, how I love you, how you make me feel like the only one in the world and how wherever I may roam within your boundaries, I am kept safe, by the symphony of sounds, the millions of sights, the fantastic aromas, the mouthfuls of tastes and the best feeling in the world. My dearest Sierra at Tahoe, you complete me."
