Race Teams

Sierra-at-Tahoe ®  Resort takes pride in our Competition Teams, Coaches and Athletes. We offer training in ski/snowboard: racing, freeestyle/freeride and park and pipe.

Sierra Team

For 8 year old through adults, we have great coaches who can help you pursue your claim to fame! If competition is not your thing, then join the Training Team to make improvements in your personal development.

Rippers Development Team

Rippers is a great way for your child to hone his or her skiing or snowboarding skills, become a part of a Team, and have lots of fun. The program is limited so remember to sign up early.

Sierra Team

What:

• The SIERRA SKI & SNOWBOARD TEAMS are designed for athletes who want a more comprehensive training and/or competition program
• Participation in COMPETITIONS is not mandatory.
• There are 2 programs available for each TEAM:
  Program 1 - Weekends plus Holiday/Blackout, or
  Program 2 - Full program: weekends plus 2 - 3 days midweek each week
• The program goes approximately 18 weeks.
• All team tuition includes a complimentary FULL SEASON PASS (Vertical Plus™ membership and ski privileges at Northstar™  Resort are available for additional fees) and a membership to the “Sierra Educational foundation.”
• A 10% discount will be given to each child within the same family after the first child is registered.

Who:

• For ages 8 - Adults
• Skiers or Snowboarders
• Must be ADVANCED Skiers and Snowboarders with the ability to ski/ride BLACK DIAMOND terrain.

Important:

• All Far West/USSA, USASA, and any other organization memberships are not included
• There are additional costs for athletes who choose to participate in COMPETITIONS that are not included in the tuition. Coaches will travel to events when 5 or more Sierra-at-Tahoe athletes are participating in that event.
• Lift tickets needed for other resorts for COMPETITIONS are not included in the tuition.
• Parents are responsible for all travel costs when going to off-site events.

Cost

Rippers Development Team

What:

• Rippers is a development program designed to help young athletes improve their skiing and snowboarding skills.
• This is a non-competitive program, with an emphasis on skill development in a safe and fun-filled atmosphere.
• Team Members stay with the same coach and teammates and train throughout the season (when a coach is unable to attend that day, there will be a substitute coach).
• The program is staffed by Sierra-at-Tahoe® Resort coaches who receive specific training for the program
• All RIPPERS tuition includes a complimentary FULL SEASON PASS (Vertical Plus™  membership and ski privileges at Northstar™ Resort options are available for additional fees) and a membership to the “Sierra Educational foundation.”
• A 10% discount will be given to each child within the same family after the first child is registered.

Who:

• Skiers or Snowboarders, ages 5-15. (Age as of December 2, 2007.)
• Must be able to get on and off the chairlift, and be able to stay in control and make turns on green runs. PLEASE be sure your child is capable of this before you enroll.

When:

• Includes 12 days of training
• You pick to train in the Saturday or Sunday program.
