Sierra-at-Tahoe® Resort is dedicated to making families smile. We know there are obstacles families face before taking that first run of the day and we are here to help minimize the stress. Check out our array of programs and services designed specifically for families to help make your ski vacations as fun and stress-free as possible.

Preferred Parking - Sierra™ Resort realizes that a family’s workout should take place on the mountain rather than in the parking lot, which is why a portion of the resort’s parking lot is blocked off for preferred parking, streamlining the arrival and departure process for busy families. Early arrival on weekends and holidays is recommended to ensure a prime spot. Preferred parking season passes are available for $149 (2008.09 rate. Limited quantities available). Normally $15 per day, guests break even after just ten visits.

Family Private Lesson (NEW!) - The Family Private Lesson offers a personalized experience with an instructor who is specially trained to teach multiple ability levels in the same lesson. No longer will Mom and Dad say goodbye to their children in the morning, not to see them again until dinner. The Family Private Lesson will enable everyone to ride the lift together while taking their line of choice down the mountain and receiving instruction on how to better carve the groomers, hit the park, launch tricks out of the Superpipe, or enjoy the gladed runs. Families taking private lessons will also be able to enjoy the comfort and convenience of a new meeting space.
Parent Predicament Lift Ticket - Two parents, one lift ticket. As one parent takes a few runs, the other stays with the child until it is time to trade duties. The parent predicament lift ticket is the same price as an adult full-day lift ticket.
Parent Zone - We have a Parent Zone at Thunder Gultch with a bleacher and tables for parents to watch their children attending ski and snowboarding school. The Parent Zone is a great place for parents to eat lunch or take pictures.
Value Meals - Recognizing that kids are constantly growing, Sierra Resort offers kids value meals created to please children’s pallets and parent’s budgets. Children will enjoy chicken tenders, grilled cheese or Mac n’ cheese, fries and a small drink.
Value Ticket Pricing - Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort makes a family ski trip easy on the pocketbook with daily children’s value pricing. Children four and younger ski/ride for FREE. Check the daily tickets page for daily lift ticket rates for children 5 - 12.
Family Friendly Mountain Layout - Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort's mountain layout is unlike many resorts in the Lake Tahoe area. Its oval-shaped layout makes it easy to reconvene with family members for lunch or hot chocolate breaks. All runs, with the exception of West Bowl and the Backside, funnel to the base lodge where most of Sierra's operations are located including Wild Mountain Children's Center, first aid, security, the base lodge and half of the resort's chairlifts. Mom can choose an intermediate route, dad can explore the trees and the kids can explore an adventure zone, knowing you'll all end up back together.
