TWO LAKE TAHOE RESORTS RANKED AMONG THE BEST IN THE NATION

Northstar-at-Tahoe™ Resort jumps to #16 in SKI Magazine Resort Poll, Sierra-at-Tahoe® Resort takes #6 Overall Resort in TransWorld SNOWboarding Resort Guide

 

TRUCKEE and SOUTH LAKE TAHOE , Calif. – Oct. 13, 2009 – Two of the ski and snowboard industry’s leading publications, SKI Magazine and TransWorld SNOWboarding Magazine, have recognized Northstar® and Sierra™ Resorts as being among the nation’s top resorts, particularly for overall resort offerings and freestyle terrain parks.

 

The awards signify the two resorts’ longstanding commitment to creating top-of-the-line snow experiences for guests. “Skiers and snowboarders can feel confident that when they choose to come to our resorts, they will be experiencing some of the best that the industry has to offer,” said Julie Maurer, Vice President of Marketing and Sales for Booth Creek Ski Resorts. “These awards are not just us touting what we deliver, they show that skiers, riders and industry experts feel we deliver a superior product.”

 

TransWorld SNOWboarding’s 2010 Resort Guide ranked Sierra Resort as the #6 Overall Resort and #9 in both Best Parks and Best Pipes. Sierra Resort was also ranked #9 for Best Snow.   Northstar Resort was ranked as #8 in Best Parks, #7 in Best Pipes and the #8 Overall Resort. Both resorts were the only Lake Tahoe resorts to be included within the Top 10 resorts in the survey.

Northstar Resort was also ranked in the SKI Magazine Annual Reader Poll as #2 in Best Terrain Parks, #4 in Best Grooming, #4 in Best Family Programs and #6 in Best Service. Also in SKI Magazine’s 2010 Resort Guide, Northstar Resort was awarded #16 in Top Resort in the West, up from #23 last winter. The editor’s note states, “Big improvements at the mountain. Excellent service and staff.” One comment from a reader stated, “Best village at a resort in California .” Northstar Resort also ranked #6 in Skiing Magazine for Best Terrain Park .
