TRUCKEE and SOUTH LAKE TAHOE , Calif. – January 30, 2008 – Northstar™ and Sierra™ Resorts are catering to the specific needs of skiers and riders with a variety of specialty camps in the coming weeks. Offered for every level of snowsporter from beginner to expert, the camps offer focused, professional instruction.

WOMEN SKI & SNOWBOARD CAMPS

Taught by top certified female instructors, these camps are designed to help female skiers and riders take their skills to the next level. Women’s Camps are perfect for those who feel they have hit a plateau or learn better in an encouraging group environment. Participants are known to see tremendous growth in their skiing/riding ability and make some new friends in the process!

Women’s Camps are offered at Northstar Resort February 1-3 and March 5-7, 2008. The all-inclusive camps include three days of instruction for skiing or riding, demo equipment, lunch, video analysis, yoga classes, wine tasting and appetizers, an equipment class and coffee each morning. Lodging packages are also available, providing participants up to a 30 percent discount on resort lodging accommodations. Women ages 13+ are invited to participate.

Women’s Camps are offered at Sierra Resort February 3–5, March 9–11 and April 13–15, 2008. Participants can choose to attend just the first day or all three days. While each camp has a featured skiing/riding focus with a specialized coach, the camps are appropriate for women of all ability levels, ages 18 and up. February’s clinic will focus on racing technique, which will help participants get more comfortable carving and making turns at speed. March will focus on off-piste and backcountry terrain, and April will focus on spring conditions. Lodging packages in South Lake Tahoe are available.

BURTON WOMEN'S CAMP

Offered at Northstar Resort February 8–10, 2008, the Burton Women’s Camp is a three day camp designed for female snowboarders at any level. The camp includes three days of snowboard instruction, equipment rentals or demos, lift tickets, lunch vouchers, and a Burton Learn-to-Ride goody bag filled with Burton swag. Open to female snowboarders age 16 and up, the Burton Women’s Camp is run by Kelly Smiley, a member of the AASI Western Technical Demonstration Team and a Northstar Resort Snowboard School Instructor. Resort lodging packages are available.

As an added bonus to the camp, Burton and Butterbox will host a fashion show on February 9 featuring male snowboard instructors modeling Burton ’s line of women’s outerwear. The instructors will then be auctioned off to the highest bidder for a one hour lesson the following morning with all the proceeds going to support Boarding for Breast Cancer.

TELEMARK CAMPS

Northstar Resort is offering one day Telemark Camps on February 10, March 9 and April 13, 2008. These all-day camps offer a relaxed, student-centric approach where the participants help dictate the direction. Each level will focus on helping participants become more efficient, fluid skiers. Beginner camps focus on proper stance and weight distribution. Intermediate camps focus on using the inside ski and reinforcing proper technique.        Advanced camps focus on skiing any slope in any condition. All camps include a lift ticket, four hours of instruction, video analysis, demo equipment, and a lunch voucher.

Sierra Resort offers a Mountain Masters Telemark program for intermediate or better skiers age 16 and over. Beginning the first week of February, the Mountain Masters program runs for six Saturdays on February 2 and 23, March 1, 8, 15 and 29, 2008. Each of the six days includes five hours of instruction and is limited to eight participants.
