FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

TURN YOUR ELECTRONIC WASTE INTO A DAY ON THE SLOPES

Sierra-at-Tahoe® Resort and Waste Connections Partner Up To Reduce Landfill Waste

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE , Calif. – April 2, 2008 – Just in time for the upcoming Earth Day, Northern California residents can turn old VCRs, video recorders, cameras, cell phones, computers and other electronic waste into a day on the slopes at Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort by taking advantage of one of the upcoming collection events in Sacramento and the Bay Area.

The e-waste is collected by Waste Connections and then turned over to PRIDE Industries for disassembly, recycling and proper disposal. PRIDE Industries employs more than 1,500 people with disabilities in the greater Sacramento region. California state law requires residents to properly dispose of their electronic waste. These events make it easy for Northern California residents to do so, taking the worry out of responsibly disassembling electronic waste to resell, recycle or reuse the component parts. Tax deductible receipts will be provided for all donations.

The first 1,000 residents who turn in their electronic waste at each of the following events/locations will receive a $30 discount on a 2008-2009 Double Whammy® season pass. The discount is valid for Adult and Young Adult passes purchased between May 1 and September 30, 2008. The Double Whammy season pass gives skiers and riders access to more than 4,000 acres of terrain at Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort and Northstar-at-Tahoe® Resort in Lake Tahoe .

“The three-way partnership between Waste Connections, PRIDE Industries and Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort offers Northern Californians a great benefit in that they can get rid of all the useless electronics sitting around the house, feel good that they aren’t putting more waste into a landfill, and come up and enjoy time on the slopes. It’s a win-win for the people and the environment,” said John Rice, General Manager of Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort.

Electronic waste may be dropped off from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the following events:
