Halfway through the 2007-2008 winter competition season and Sierra Resort’s Elite Team, which includes Jaime Anderson, Joanie Anderson, Hannah Teter and Elijah Teter, is a dominating force at snowboarding competitions around the globe.

With three major competitions just around the corner, Sierra-at-Tahoe® Resort’s athletes are looking forward to finishing the winter season at the top of the industry. Watch for Hannah Teter and Jaime Anderson at the Nippon Open February 26 through March 2, 2008, Elijah Teter at the Vans Cup at Northstar-at-Tahoe® Resort February 29 through March 2 and the whole team at the Burton US Open March 17 through 23, 2008.

The Nippon Open and Burton US Open are part of the Ticket To Ride World Snowboard Tour, a series of independent freestyle snowboarding events organized under one “ticket”. Riders can earn points at each event during the ten month competition season. Currently, Jaime Anderson is at the top of the Women’s Standings, with 769.08 points, and in good position to claim first place overall.

“Jaime’s training from her days racing here at Sierra Resort in USASA competitions has given her a solid foundation for all the freestyle competitions,” said Brady Gunsch, Sierra Resort team coach. “It’s been amazing to watch her progress over the years.”

“The Sierra Elite Team exploded onto the competition scene this season,” said John Rice, General Manager of Sierra Resort. “Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort has always believed in investing in young athletes to help them reach their full potential. Our Elite Team is a great role model for the rest of our athletes. We are very proud of their accomplishments this season.”
